URSB staff shine in Journey to the Boardroom Leadership Programme

Two URSB staff members were among the top performers and awardees at the graduation ceremony of the 2nd cohort of the Journey to the Boardroom programme.

Ms. Patience Buhikire, Head Legal and Advisory Services, and Ms. Cynthia Mpoza, Senior Legal Officer – Litigation, were awarded for their outstanding performance in the 3-month-long programme. Founded by Ms. Janet Bugembe, Journey to the Boardroom equips organisations and professionals with the skills
needed for sustainable growth through rigorous mentorship and training.

In a congratulatory message posted on LinkedIn, the Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, applauded the graduands on “yet another milestone” and appealed to them to “keep shining and reach even greater heights”.

Ms. Buhikire’s team, “Aliker Inc” was the overall winner of the prestigious Multichoice Award for Journey to the Boardroom Cohort 2025 while Cynthia’s team, “Chief’s Vanguard”, was first runner up.

The teams exhibited excellence in boardroom presentations, class assignments, and individual tasks, exemplifying all-around performance.

The Journey to the Boardroom curriculum covers critical areas such as strategic leadership, board composition and dynamics, risk management, and ESG standards, among others. Congratulations, Patience and Cynthia!
