On 12th March 2025, at the Uganda Business Facilitation Center in Kololo, the Registrar General and the Presidential Adviser on Creatives discussed boosting creative sector monetization through improved stakeholder coordination and URSB reforms ahead of World Intellectual Property Day.


Speaker of Parliament applauds URSB for exemplary leadership among government agencies
In a recent meeting with a high-level delegation from Malawi, the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Anita Annet Among recognised the critical role of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau in fostering a conducive business climate.
The meeting, which was held in the Speaker’s chambers, was part of the delegation’s benchmarking visit to Uganda, guided by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hon. Norbert Mao.
During the discussions, Speaker Among expressed her gratitude to the delegation for selecting Uganda as a central point for their visit, emphasising the long-standing cordial relations between Uganda and
Malawi. She highlighted the importance of these relations, noting that both nations have a wealth of knowledge and experiences to exchange.
REGISTRAR GENERAL PRAISED
The Speaker particularly lauded URSB’s Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, for her exemplary leadership. Under her guidance, URSB has developed a robust framework that not only supports business registration but also enhances collaborations with similar organisations across the African continent.
This proactive approach has positioned Uganda as a model for effective governance and business facilitation in the region.
The meeting stressed the potential for further collaboration between the two countries, aiming to influence their mutual strengths in nurturing economic growth and improving the business landscape in Africa.
