Official Receiver’s office unveils 3rd Insolvency Journal at 8th Insolvency Week

The Official Receiver’s Office at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) last week launched the 3rd Edition of the Uganda Insolvency Journal, marking a significant milestone in the country’s insolvency law practice and reform journey.

The unveiling took place during the 8th Annual Insolvency Week, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Kampala and officiated by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa.

The event attracted key stakeholders in the legal, financial, and business sectors, as well as members of the judiciary and academia.

In his keynote address, Rt. Hon. Tayebwa commended URSB and the Official Receiver’s Office for their continued efforts in strengthening Uganda’s insolvency regime and providing a platform for thought
leadership and sector development.

The 3rd edition of the Uganda Insolvency Journal features expert analysis, case reviews, and practitioner insights on topics such as corporate restructuring, cross-border insolvency, and creditor protection.

It also highlights key trends and reforms shaping insolvency administration in Uganda. The Official Receiver and URSB Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K. Kainobwisho, lauded the journal as a practical tool for both professionals and policymakers and reaffirmed URSB’s commitment to promoting transparency, business recovery, enhanced business rescue mechanisms that investor confidence.
