A powerful message for URSB staff on balancing motherhood and career
URSB female staff came together for an inspiring pre-International Women’s Day celebration, where Coach Ruth Ndwiga delivered a powerful message about the delicate balance between motherhood and career.
“Motherhood and career are a delicate dance,” she shared, acknowledging the challenges of juggling both roles.
Despite missing her children’s book week at school, Ms. Ndwiga emphasised the importance of showing up for yourself, no matter where you are in your journey.
She encouraged women to celebrate their unique contributions, reminding them of their value. “You can’t love yourself if you don’t know what value you bring to the table,” she said, urging everyone to step into their power and embrace their potential.
Drawing inspiration from former US First Lady Michelle Obama, Ms. Ndwiga discussed how women can succeed in both motherhood and careers by embracing their roles as sisters, daughters, aunts, and grandmothers.
She also offered practical advice on how to balance the two worlds. “It’s not a choice we have to make,” she said, advocating for self-discovery, boundary-setting, and delegation. Ms. Ndwiga stressed the importance of emotional intelligence, self-care, and building a strong support system. “Motherhood is not a solo journey, it’s a sisterhood journey,” she concluded, urging women to support one another in their shared journey.
