IP TRAINING FOR SCIENCE TEACHERS

In a bid to engage youth in secondary schools into the use of intellectual property, Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) held a meeting with the National Chairperson of the Uganda Professional Science Teachers’ Union (UPSTU), Mr. Elong Vincent, on October 28, 2024,at the Uganda Business Facilitation Centre (UBFC).

During the meeting, it was agreed that URSB would, upon invitation, facilitate trainings for members of the union. Engagement with organisations such as UPSTU is envisioned to facilitate access to larger platforms, as opposed to direct engagements with secondary schools.

Subsequently, URSB was invited to conduct a training on intellectual property during the UPSTU Annual General Meeting on December 27, 2024, at Nob View Hotel in Ntinda.

UPSTU is an organization dedicated to advocating for the advancement and professional development of science teachers in Uganda.

UPSTU includes all teachers of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, ICT, Agriculture, Physical Education, Food and Nutrition in Secondary schools, and other science teachers of instructors in certificate and diploma awarding institutions like NTCs, PTCs, and BTVET (Teachers / Lecturers / Tutors, Instructors and Principles) among others
