Jane is the Deputy Registrar General in charge of Registries, a post she has held from 2 January 2016. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA UK) the Governance Institute; and the Chairperson, ICSA Uganda Branch Committee, an IFC (World Bank) certified Governance Trainer and a Senior advocate of the Courts of Judicature. Jane has recently been appointed a committee member of the Research and Innovation Fund under the Ministry of Science and Technology. She is also the Chair of the Steering Committee for the National Intellectual Property Policy.
Previously Jane was Company Secretary for five years in Kinyara Sugar Works Ltd, a Government Parastatal; and for eight years in National Housing & Construction Company Ltd, also a Government Company privatized but with majority Government of Uganda Shareholding. She was a Board Member in Housing Finance Bank where she chaired the Risk Committee and was Member of Committee on Asset and Liability Management.
Jane is a Member of the Institute of Corporate Governance Uganda, where she was among the founder Council Members. She was a part time lecturer at the Law Development Centre after which she was an external examiner for a period of five years.
Jane is currently a senior faculty Member at ICSA Uganda Branch, training CSQS students in the Boardroom Dynamics module; and a Facilitator in the ICSA Uganda Workshops in conjunction with the Uganda Law Society.
Jane holds a Masters in Entrepreneurship and Business Venturing from University of Stirling (Scotland). She holds a certificate from the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (UK), a Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC) and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Makerere University.
