Christine Kaahwa

Ms.Kaahwa is Commissioner, Institutions, Directorate of Civil Litigation, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs and has served in this capacity since February 2014. From 2008 to 2014, Ms.Kaahwa has been a Principal State Attorney at the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and Courts subordinate; Ag. Commissioner Local Governments in the Directorate of Civil Litigation in 2008 and as a Senior State Attorney from 1999 – 2006.

Her areas of expertise include:

  • Constitutional Law and practice of Constitutionalism
  • Civil Litigation and Court Practice{entails commercial law ,torts, arbitration and mediation, land matters among others}
  • Democratic Practices through Electoral systems and Litigation
  • Operation of the Commonwealth justice system
  • Advocacy and community based training/workshops
  • Management

Ms.Kaahwa is a graduate of Law from Makerere University and holds a diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre.
She has served on the board of National Lotteries Board.
