Ms.Bernadette Tamale is the Head Records at Uganda Registration Services Bureau. She has a wealth of expertise in designing, setting up and managing of Registries/ Records Repositories. Particular focus has been in ensuring timely and efficient information availability to clientele through streamlining data accessibility in the various sectors within the private, government and the media fraternity. Bernadette has handled high value projects and assignments to mention but a few are; design and installation of the Electronic Document Management System at the Uganda Registration Services Bureau; start and set up of the registry and archive centre at Housing Finance bank; drafted a proposal and set up the Library and Information Centre of the Monitor Newspaper newsroom.

This has tremendously transformed service delivery by reducing on the turn around time of document processing and performance changes at URSB. Transparency, timely and efficient data assessment have played a pivotal role in the innovations within the various sectors that Bernadette has played centre stage. Over the last 15years including 8+ years at a senior level, Bernadette has been involved in Records Management transformations and innovations to ease business process management which have successfully been sustained to date

Before attaining this position Bernadette previously worked as a Senior Records Officer / Registrar at Uganda Registration Services Bureau. Prior she was a Manager Central Registry and Archive at Housing Finance Bank. She is the brain behind the Resource Centre at the Monitor Newspaper Publications, where she served as the Librarian/Research Assistant. Bernadette is currently a member of various committees. She has excelled in innovative planning to transform information accessibility which improve operations, project management and implementation of best records management practices.

Ms. Bernadette Tamale holds a Masters and Post Graduate diploma in Project Monitoring and Evaluation both from Uganda Technology and Management University (UTAMU). She also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management from Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and a Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Library and Information Science from Makerere University. Bernadette is a Prince 2 Certified Practitioner in Project Management and has obtained high level skills in setting up Records Registries.
